Crusty the Snowman . . .

It snowed literally all day yesterday . . . it was about 36 degrees outside so it was melting just as fast as it was coming down. By evening when the temperature dropped again it froze everything solid. Jakob couldn't wait to get out there and play in the snow, but his clothes were so wet from him playing at school that we made him stay inside to warm up and dry out. It didn't matter to Jakob how cold and wet he was, he would have played out their all night if he could. Today I promised him that when his Dad got home he could go out and play in the snow, except for the snow was just too crusty to rolls snowballs to make a snowman. So, instead they filled up a 5-gallon bucket and built their snowman that way. It was definitely original, dressed up with common things you'd find in the desert . . . a tumbleweed for his hair, two river rocks for his eyes and willow branches for his nose and arms. I'm certain there will be more snowmen built, the weatherman says that we are in for some more winter weather this weekend.
