We were still in Iowa on Jakob's Birthday . . . we celebrated with Grandma Cathy and Joe's cousin's. We went to Hy-Vee, Jakob picked out a Spiderman cake and then we went and had pizza. I knew the kids would say that this cake wasn't as good as what Grandma could make, I assured them both that once we got home she'd have a cake waiting for him. And she most certainly did, here's The Bee Movie cake that Jakob asked her for. She made a extra special cake for him this year, my Grandpa's favorite . . . a family recipe, chocolate cake from scratch with chocolate peanut butter frosting! It was super YUMMY!!!

And what kiddo doesn't like presents??? Jakob had been getting presents for days, but he had one last present waiting at home for him . . . he opened it and LOVED it! Thanks Auntie Mona, Uncle Marc, MegAnn and Madi!

I was happy to be able to do it for him. That's my job, isn't it?
Hope he enjoyed it, i know it was a different kind of cake than usual, but was feeling a little nostalgic, being the 15th anniversary of Dad's death, making his favorite.
Glad Jakob got to have a birthday with his Iowa cousins, none of his cousins live here any more.
Gorgeous cake; so glad he had a great birthday.
What a cute cake! It sounds so yummy!
